joy division

In the waiting line under the filtered Spanish sun of La Paloma, at Santiago Calatrava's Aeropuerto de Bilbao. Sondika, Spain. (2008).

Up the funicular atop Mount Artxanda sits a small park in the shape of a teardrop. There's a sundial in the middle; along one-half of the perimeter, a sweeping terrace opens to the green valley below, city and all.

It's still early. The view of Bilbao is mine alone, reward perhaps for choosing not to siesta this summer morning away. It's nice.

This was twenty months ago, and life, of course, is different now. Whether the view from here turns out to be something worth waiting on, only time will tell.

In the interim, there's really nothing fancy or profound to share. Just a couple of long lost (well, for twenty months, anyway) photos to post, as we end our hiatus and ease back into this thing.

More starfish and waffles to come.

Bilbao, the smoky heart of Basque Country, as seen from the southern slope of Mount Artxanda, early on a July morning. Bilbao, Spain. (2008).

  1. I think most bloggers all simultaneously took a several month siesta. It's been quiet out here. Too quiet.

  2. Agreed. I suppose it's still quiet, but hopefully the slience is starting to break.
