all for waffles and waffles for all

Happiness is sitting in the sun with your very own plate of delicious waffles. Happy Våffeldagen from all of us here at felix's daily starfish and waffles. Lund, Sweden. (2009).

Here in Sweden, March 25 is Våffeldagen (Waffle Day). In addition to being a very important religious holiday, it also officially marks the start of the New Year for those of us who operate on the little-known-but-vastly-superior starfish and waffles calendar. As such, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year! (And also, Happy Våffeldagen!)

Normally, on this most glorious of days, we would be out celebrating with friends over copious amounts of waffles and, probably, whisky. Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, we've been holed up in the office all day, working. This, of course, is a sin. The way we see it, the only way to deliver our tortured souls from certain damnation is by eating more waffles. Fortunately, this is exactly what we're doing as I type. Mmmm, waffles. And again - mmmm, waffles.

Are you also working on this Våffeldagen? If so, cease and desist, you sinner! Go home. Grab yourself a plate of waffles. The road to salvation begins today.

:)

  2. I love waffles! We need this holiday in the US. We have fausnaut day, why not a day for waffles? And the starfruit look pretty fabulous as well. Thanks a lot. Now I'm hungry for waffles! :)

  4. Anonymous #1 ... Mmmm, bacon. I agree, bacon should be a part of every healthy breakfast, and probably, lunch and supper, too.

Michelle ... As you might have guessed: we love waffles, too! I also agree that you need Våffeldagen in the US, and don't believe your country can be taken seriously until it becomes a holiday there as well :-)
