the open window

As April turns, fresh air drifts in from the open window and carries with it a new summer of high hopes.

A sunny morning in Lund, Sweden. (2006). I start graduate school at Lund University in August. Good news: the editor has decided to come with me. Adventures, challenges, and fun times ensue. But there are also, oh, so many questions. How will I adjust to life in a foreign country? Will cutting class to travel the whole of Europe affect my ability to graduate? Will the editor end up with a tall, leggy blonde? Stay tuned.

In August 2007, the head offices of felix's daily starfish and waffles will be moving to Lund, Sweden. Object to our planned relocation? Speak now - or forever hold your peace.

  1. Wow! Good luck with your studies (and the blonde)!!

  2. No I did not get the job but I am completely ok with that. It was a odd interview that lasted 5 minutes with the interviwer talking the whole time.

Grad school in Sweden! That's wonderful!

  3. So you're giving up the high finance life and moving to the land of blondes...very exciting! Do they play slopitch there?

Good for you!!! There will be many new stories for the editor to keep us entertained.

  4. Rebecca ... thanks!

Michelle ... well, good luck landing a job that you really want. I'm definitely looking forward to Sweden, but it'll also be quite the change, too.

Anonymous ... yep, I figure now's a good a time as any to take a break from the office and head across the pond for a couple of years. And with all of the gorgeous blondes over there, I don't think there'll be any time for baseball!

  5. Awesome. Good for you for following your heart and for the bear for tagging along...perhaps, it's the lure of the tall leggy blonde bear?

    Enjoy the adventure.

  6. Thanks Zoe. If nothing else, the Swedish excursion should be an adventure.

  7. that is so cool that you are going to be going to school there! I can't wait to see all the great pictures you will take.

  8. Absolutely no objections from this court. A little jealousy, perhaps. And I hear their graduate program in Swedish Erotica is stellar.

  9. Katie ... thanks!

-c ... oh yes ... happily, Swedish Erotica is going to be my major! (heh)
